What Is a Role Tree?

Role Trees allow Dashboard users access to items such as reports, graphs, launch forms, and URLs, that have been associated with their Managed Reporting User Groups. The advantage of creating a Role Tree is that you can limit the items a user can access.

As shown in the following image, if a user belongs to the Century Corporation and Public groups, they will only have access to the items in the Role Trees assigned to those groups.

Role Trees display in the same area of the Dashboard as the Domain Tree. For details on managing the display of and positioning the Domain Tree and the Role Tree, see Customizing Dashboard.

If you choose to display the Role Tree in a Dashboard view, you must create a Role Tree for all groups that will use that view.
